Product Description: Alan Davis writes and pencils the final story of Marvel's first family! Even the strongest family can be torn apart by tragedy - and in the futuristic world of tomorrow, the members of the once-Fantastic Four are divided and vulnerable to opponents from their past. What events could have caused the FF to go their separate ways, and how does their disbanding set the stage for a conflict that will send shockwaves across the galaxy and beyond? This six-issue miniseries takes us to a future reality (at an undetermined date, perhaps thirty or forty years ahead of the "current" Marvel continuity) in which Earth has achieved near-utopian stability and super-battles are a thing of the past. Everyone is happy except, maybe, the scattered remnants of the Fantastic Four, who quietly disbanded after a tragic battle decades earlier. In 2004, Marvel published a one-shot prestige format entitled Hulk: The End. It is the first in a series that is intended to spotlight Marvel Comics' greatest icons in their final story by creators who are instrumental in the characters' legacy. Their children were killed years ago in a final battle with Dr Doom. We get some glimpses of the future, the children of Spider-Man, the Wasp and Henry Pym try to form the 'Bug Squad'. Tony ... Alan Davis draws adventure comics almost better than anyone else. Seems like he's just as good at writing them.
I was really concerned that "The End" was going to gloomy and depressing. While Mr. Davis puts his cast through some rigorous challenges, he gives us a big story full of traditional and exciting super-heroing with a smart and modern twist.
This is the Fantastic Four at their best!

I have a soft spot for the so-called "imaginary tales" of the comic book world that occur outside of normal continuity. A good number are well-written and interesting looks at familiar heroes in unfamiliar contexts. "Fantastic Four: The End" is no exception: a great story with outstanding art, both by Alan Davis.
After the mayhem of the Mutant Wars, Earth has become a paradise. Environmentally sound, technologically advanced, and with humanity united it is virtually free of crime and disease. ... Read More
