Great story, definitely worth picking up for anyone who is a Green Lantern fan. Also there is some throwback material here for any old fans of Superman and Mongul. Great stuff, all worth checking out.

I was very unimpressed with this trade. I am a HUGE green lantern fan (mostly Geoff Johns work) but found this trade to be very lacking. I hated whole restaurant on Oa. And the dialogue was very annoying to me. When I read this I had a very low opinion of Tomassi. That however was rectified in reading Blackest NIght: Batman (fricking AWESOME!!). Ok.. I really don't care for Peter Tomasi at all.. and Patrick Gleason's art is not particular my favorite either.. That being said, I really love 'Sins of the Star Sapphire'.. There is a subtle mark of improvement in Tomasi's story telling and narrative.. And Gleason improves drastically from his previous rather poor artwork.. The story itself is one of the creepier sci-fi arcs in the entire Green Lantern catalog..

I was very glad to get this book which includes a couple of the regular Green Lantern issues with a few from the Green Lantern Corps ones. A fascinating tale the folks at DC did to show how the Zamarons have spread usage of the Star Sapphire gems to various babes in diverse parts of the universe!

The idea of the Green Lantern Corps is one of the genuinely genius concepts in the DC or any comics universe. Superficially similar in nature to the Jedi Knights of Star Wars, the Green Lantern Corps are essentially space police, and their tales chronicle the exploits of sentient representatives from various solar systems around the galaxy, given immensely powerful rings that are powered by will. Lanterns know no fear, or are at least able to overcome it.
