Video blogging is easy to do, and it doesn’t take much to get started with it. However, becoming successful at it is challenging. The good news is there are a few things you can do. Below are a few tips that can help you become successful with video blogging.
1. Audio Matters- When it comes to video blogging, audio is important, and it can make or break your videos. Ideally, you don’t want to use the mic that is included with a camcorder, and you should use an external microphone instead. External microphones tend to provide better audio than internal ones, so invest in a cheap external microphone. You want your audience to hear you because if your sound is too low or they cannot understand what you’re saying, then they may never return to your video blog.
2. Lighting Is Important- Lighting plays a role in how successful your videos will be. You don’t want the light to be too bright, nor do you want it too dark because people may get aggravated and never return to watch your videos, or they won’t look at them as often as they would if the lighting was just right. If you use natural light, make sure the sun is not in front or on the side of the camera, and this should provide you with the ideal lighting. However, if you can afford it, then invest in artificial lighting.
3. Connect Your Blogs To Your Social Media Pages- If you want to be successful with video blogging, then you should connect your video blog/blogs to your Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram page. For example, you can place a link to your video blog on your social media profiles and vice-versa, and on some videos, you can remind viewers to follow you on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. If you do this, you could end up getting much more traffic to your video blogs, as well as to your social media profiles.
4. Promote Your Videos- Many video bloggers promote their videos on YouTube, which they should because it is the largest video sharing platform out there, but you want to promote your videos via other avenues too. For example, when you create a video, then upload it to YouTube and then upload it to Facebook, Instagram and 2-3 more sites that allow you to upload and share videos. There are are companies that specialize in distributing videos, so look into some of these companies and they may be able to distribute your videos to the audience you are trying to reach. Remember, the more places you upload your videos to, the more exposure you will get.
If you get the lighting just right, and your audio is good, then you stand a good chance you will have success with video blogging. Just remember to connect your video blogs to your social media pages and promote your videos too. If you do those four things, then you should have success as a video blogger.
