The upcoming new movie will star Colin Farrell as Det. James 'Sonny' Crockett, Jamie Foxx as Det. Ricardo Tubbs, and Barry Shabaka Henley as Lt. Martin Castillo. No Don Johnson, Philip Michael Thomas, or Edward James Olmos in sight.

There's a Miami Vice Movie Trailer out available at the official movie site. You might want to check it out. It doesn't make me gasp with excitement over my old favorite show from my glorious teen years, but it does appear to be pretty stylish in keeping with what you would expect from Michael Mann.

There's a lot of rumors going around the movie is over priced and doomed for failure. Well on that score you just never know. I don't expect Michael Mann to put out garbage, but I'm sure a lot of people will be disappointed that the old cast isn't involved. Just once wouldn't it be cool to have a big screen movie treatment on an old show but with the original cast. Old stars used to at least get cameos. Now it seems even that isn't allowed.

Also, I absolutely have to know if Crockett will be driving a Ferrari this time around.
