My favorite part about being a blogger is meeting new people and creating a relationship with them. It’s so easy to just connect with people on social media and share your thoughts on anything, but it can also be lonely sometimes. A good friend of mine introduced me to blogging and I have been engaging in it ever since. This past weekend my friends group organized a conference in Atlanta where we had a lot of fun drinking, taking photos, chatting with other bloggers and connecting over food. Here is what I shared from our event: –
A blog is not just for bloggers
There are many benefits to being a blogger, and one of them is having an audience. Blogs are like websites, and when you make a blog you are creating a separate entity that can be shared and reposted with endless numbers of people. Since there is no physical space for a blog in the physical world, you have to find a way to get it on the internet. Blogging services such as WordPress, Weebly and Joomla can be used to host your blog and send it to the air. This allows you to publish content on a site that otherwise would be out of reach for people with little computers or internet literacy. With the right blog hosting solution, your blog can reach a huge readership with little effort.
Why you should host a conference with a blog
If you are looking for a way to get involved in topics that interest you and have a niche that you can draw from, then blogging is the way to go. In fact, blogging has been around for decades as an effective way to get involved in a wide range of topics. When you start a blog you are giving it away for free and giving it to the world to enrich their experience by sharing your thoughts and knowledge with thousands of people. These are the types of actions that make a blogger successful.
A little bit of spark from everyone
As mentioned above, blogging can be a lonely job, but it is also a great source of social interaction. When you have a large enough audience to support you, you will fortunately find that people are always looking to interact with you on social media platforms. A great way to interact with your followers and peers is by posting links to your blog on social media. When someone clicks on your links and then purchases your products or services, you are giving them a reason to become a customer. This can be anywhere from a quick “like” on social media to a review on a product or service review website.
The value of connecting over food
One of the best things about being a blogger is the opportunity to connect with other like-minded people. Blogging can be done in many different ways, but the one thing that all of us have in common is the need for food. Yes, we all love to eat dessert and we all crave it after finishing our meals. We often forget that the dessert is actually the post that we are sharing with our friends. By hosting your blog at a restaurant you can create a connection with other bloggers that is priceless. You can exchange links and leave reviews, ask for links to products or services and even share your photos. This is a great way to get dinner on the table while enjoying your evening meal.
A little bit of pep from everyone
As mentioned above, blogger life is a struggle without a pep talk. You will constantly find yourself writing about the same topics and problems over and over again. This happens because you are trying to convey the same information to a large number of people. If you are finding it harder and harder to communicate with people over social media and platforms, then it might be time to sit down for a few hours and write a post-it note. Try to write about topics that interest you and that you know are well-read among your peers. You can also include pictures and videos if you choose to do so. A pep talk can be like a message to your readers, encouraging them to keep reading and sharing the content that you create. By writing a pep talk and sharing it with your readers, you are strengthening your relationship with them and building support for your ideas and content.
It’s so very easy to connect with people on social media platforms
You probably never sdasrinagar realized it before, but social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn and Weebly are pretty much the most used tools in the business of blogging. Why not create a blog on one of these platforms and start sharing knowledge, advice and everything you know? You can create an account on Facebook and start shooting photos, writing and sharing your ideas. You can also create a website or plug into a mobile app and start answering questions, responding to reviews and rating products or services, or sharing your photos with friends. These are all ways to get people to Like you on social media.
