There are many similarities between these projects and our own Arsebead project. One big difference is that ours is not active only in the Netherlands but also in other countries such as India, Brazil, etc. This makes it stand out from the crowd of so-called ‘new’ software projects which are essentially clones or imitators of each other. This article will highlight some highlights from our own recent project arsebead and explore the different aspects involved in developing such an open-source application as an ecosystem. Let’s see why we chose to develop it this way and how you can set your own aspirations for development of your own software projects too.
What is arsebead?
In short, Arsebead is an open-source, cross-platform application that allows users to create and manage online games. It is based on the Ethereum network and is aimed at a wide range of users from both experienced and new players. Users can create and manage their very own virtual products, exchange goods and services, etc. The platform is completely decentralized, meaning no organization controls or owns anything. Users create their products, manage their business operations and monetize their products with a wide range of different payment channels. Users can decide how much is charged for their products, how often they are updated and what features they want to continue developing.
Why developing software in an open-source fashion?
The main reason we developed the product this way was to be as close to the target market as possible, while maintaining its sufficient independence to develop on its own. It is very important to have a product that fits the bill of any specific market niche, since that is what makes a business successful. We have found that the overwhelming majority of players in the virtual goods market are very tech-savy, both in their approach and their products. They are often very advanced, have a lot of know-how and know how to use tech-savvy software to maneuver their products through the marketplace. Apart from that, the market is very saturated with all kinds of ‘first-person shooters’ and other gambling apps, so the opportunity to develop an entirely new product without being stuck in an existing market niche is very attractive. We felt that an open-source product would be a natural extension of our existing revenue streams, and would allow us to remain profitably focused without having to fork out a significant amount of capital from ourselves.
The development process for arsebead is very similar to that of any other software project. There are several stages in development for any software project, and each stage has very specific features and properties that must be satisfied in order for the project to succeed. The following are some important milestones that we trace back to the development of other open-source software projects: – Build – Builds the application and its dependencies – Run – The application runs and reports what it expected to – Test – The application is accompanied by a set of tests to help ensure the quality of the product – Conclusion – The project concludes and we turn our attention to the next stage.
